A Long-Established Day Nursery Has Been Sold

Knightsbridge Business Sales have completed the sale of an Ofsted registered day nursery in Staffordshire.

St Thomas’ Day Nursery was established in Stoke-on-Trent, in 1989 and had been under our client’s ownership since 2004. During that time our clients, along with long serving, highly skilled and experienced staff members built an excellent reputation within the local area.

The nursery is registered for 49 children aged 0-4 and was operating at a capacity of just 50% of that figure, therefore presenting huge potential for growth in the future. The nursery had also undergone major refurbishment to offer a safer and more stimulating environment in the outdoor play area.

Our client pursued the sale of their business to focus on family commitments. Knightsbridge sold the business to a family who purchased it as an investment opportunity. Two of the nursery’s new owners intend to work within the business whilst retaining the original staff. The business was sold for £110,000.

Children's Day Nursery Sold by Knightsbridge Business Sales

St Michael’s Nursery School, an Ofsted registered Children’s Day Nursery was sold by Knightsbridge Business Sales in August 2014, just 5 months after being offered up to the market.

The business has been established for over 40 years and under the management and ownership of our clients for 12 years before their decision to sell the nursery in order to retire.

The majority of the nursery’s 14 part time staff members are qualified to level 3 & 4 and whilst the business runs at 100% occupancy of 44 children between the ages of 2 and 5, there is still the potential to open during school holidays as a ‘Kids Club’ in order to increase turnover. The introduction of a breakfast club and later opening on a Friday could also increase revenue further.

Private buyer Mrs Akinbobola acquired the St Michael’s Nursery School for £40,000 and will continue to trade and grow the business.

Gemma Moss of Knightsbridge negotiated the deal and described the sale as “very quick” and wishes a happy retirement to our client, Jenny.

Knightsbridge Business Sales Ltd Announce Sale of Little Neuk Nursery in Fife, Scotland

Little Neuk, a long established and highly reputable child care and day nursery based in Fife, Scotland, was sold by Knightsbridge Business Sales Ltd to a new owner on 1^st November 2013 in a quick sales process that took only 3 months.

The nursery, centrally located with a secure garden and play area, offers full and part time day care for 27 babies and children up to the age of five years. 

Boasting a Grade 5 Care Commission Report, strong annual turnover and profit figures and a business rate exemption, Little Neuk Nursery offered an attractive proposition for a new owner, in addition to providing huge scope for development of both the interior and exterior areas.

The vendors sought an exit to release time for family commitments, which was made possible due to new owner, buyer Stacy Penrose, wishing to work within the business on a full time basis and retain all existing staff.

Rotherham Day Nursery sold to new owners

Established in 1993, Momma’s Day nursery in Rotherham has been sold to new owners by Knightsbridge. Registered for 34 children the business benefits from an excellent reputation in the local area with consistently high occupation levels and a further waiting list.

 Abbeyfields Day Nursery in Kent has been sold to new owners by Knightsbridge.

The business is set in a prime location of Kent and have recently been awarded an outstanding rating throughout by Ofsted. There is room for new opportunities and future development for the new occupants.
