Traditional Fish and Chip Shop Sold



Knightsbridge Business Sales has successfully completed the sale of Chapel Chippy, a Rochdale-based traditional fish and chip shop.

Chapel Chippy, otherwise known as JB’s Chippy, was established over 20 years ago, and has been under the direction of the current owner since 2011. Located in busy, main road premises, Chapel Chippy is ideally situated to benefit from passing traffic, able to park in front of the business without restriction. Having built up an impressive base of regular, repeat custom, the current owner decided to offer the business for sale in order to pursue other business interests.

Knightsbridge Business Sales was able to generate high levels of interest for the business, with a number of viewings arranged over the course of its time on the market. The eventual buyer, Mr Richard Ashton, purchased Chapel Chippy with the intention of working within the business full time.

Successful Sandwich Bar and Cafe Has Been Sold



Mr Bites Sandwich Bar and Café, a well-established Yorkshire-base café, has been purchased, as advised by Knightsbridge Business Sales.

Based in Castleford, West Yorkshire, the business has been established for over ten years, and has been under the direction of the current owner for over twelve months. Over this time, Mr Bites has been able to develop an enviable reputation and an excellent customer base, through a commitment to delivering quality products and a fantastic service.

Alongside a strong takeaway trade, Mr Bites also generates income from outside catering and two sign written vans that deliver goods to a large number of local businesses. Significant growth opportunities also existed with the development of the new Castleford Tigers rugby stadium being built approximately half a mile from the current premises. Due to the close proximity and size of the construction, the business has positively benefitted from increasing custom and reputation.

With intentions of pursuing other business interests, the owner of Mr Bites approached Knightsbridge and made the decision to sell. The business was sold to a private buyer, who hoped to continue running the day-to-day life of the business with the help of most of the original staff members.

Successful sale of well established Pet Store in Westminster

Knightsbridge has successfully completed the £122,500 sale of St John's Pets Ltd in Westminster, London.

Established in 2003, the business primarily specialises in pet products whilst also offering grooming services for both Dogs and Cats.

The business occupies a prominent position just off the main high street with approximately 5 miles away from Central London which is connected by excellent mainline train links and nearby bus stops.

Occupying a very well presented single fronted property, the main floor of the shop consists of a fully fitted retail area, with an equipped grooming parlour and kitchen located in the basement.

The business was acquired by private buyer Paul Tench. Mr Tench was one of several parties who expressed an interest in the opportunity and intends to work within the business himself.

Fortis IP complete deal for Eco Waste and Recycling Limited

Hertfordshire-based Eco Waste and Recycling Limited, a specialist in providing eco-friendly waste management solutions, has been sold to new owners less than 8 months after coming to the market.

The business offers its 1,500 active clients - consisting of local housing authorities and private construction contractors – services such as: skip hire; reclamation; commercial services; construction tipping; and bulk bags.

Operating out of 9,400 sq ft of land, the site consists of a waste transfer station and a 600 sq ft office space whilst also benefitting from excellent road links, connecting the site to surrounding areas.

After generating multiple expressions of interest, a £300,000 deal was agreed with Neil Muttock of Fortis IP Ltd. The business will serve as another arm to Fortis’ energy/recycling division with all staff being retained post-completion.

Successful newsagenets in Teesside sold to new owners

Knightsbridge have successfully completed the £140,000 sale of this Teesside based newsagents.

Generating a turnover in excess of £1,000,000 per year plus Lotto and Paypoint commissions, the business offers a range of traditional lines such as newspapers, confectionery and tobacco; the business also retails off sales and a limited line of grocery items. The PayPoint terminal drives additional footfall, whilst the Lotto terminal is the busiest independent site in the North East, and regularly one of the busiest in the UK.

The business is located in the centre of a town centre in Teesside, benefiting from exceptionally high levels of footfall throughout the day.

The business operates from a mid parade terrace property which is in excellent commercial order throughout.

Brought to the market as a retirement sale, the business was purchased by private buyer Mr Maxwell. Mr Maxwell intends to work in the business himself whilst also retaining the existing staff.

Londis convenience store and post office in Worthen, Shrewsbury, has been successfully sold to new owners. The final consideration was £330,000 plus stock at value for the business and freehold property which also includes a 3 bed cottage.

The business, which generates a turnover in excess of £500,000 annually, stocks a wide range of convenience items, garden products and animal feeds as well as housing a post office facility.

The store is located in the village of Worthen, with a number of surrounding villages within the direct catchment area of the business, which lies just a short drive from the Anglo/Welsh border.

The business was brought to the market by Knightsbridge due to the outgoing owner’s intentions to retire after running the business for over 15 years.

The buyer, Mr John Perks, was one of a number of interested parties which resulted in multiple bids for the business.

Situated on Fleet Street, the business, which generates an annual turnover of £375,000, occupies a prominent position on one of the most famous roads in London. There are a large number of offices, lawyer’s chambers, law courts and solicitor’s offices close-by with the business sitting right in the middle of these.

The acquirer, Mothership Group, is a bar and events operator, currently with three sites in East London.
